The calm before the storm (cliché alert).

Well, the EMA for A215 went on its merry way to the OU a couple of weeks ago, and I have kind of collapsed in a heap as far as writing goes. I feel a little bit burned out by the whole thing, and although I’m quietly confident that I have at least passed, the thought of doing it all over again, on a higher level, for A363, frankly fills me with dread.

The furthest I’ve got with any kind of creativity is thinking about writing some short stories based on some rather old (1980s) song lyrics. There are a good number of songs around that tell a ‘story’, and some have a lot of atmosphere to them. Actually doing the writing, though, seems to be asking too much of my poor brain right now.

I shall just sit tight, wait for this mental exhaustion to pass, and try to get my enthusiasm for my level 3 courses. Otherwise I will be running off with a Diploma, messing up my chances of getting this degree finished, and kicking myself forevermore.

Good luck to all my fellow students, and indeed all OU students doing EMAs or sitting exams this month!

I think the summer rest will help Clair. Just write when the mood takes you and wallow in the thought that you don’t have a deadline for a few months.

  2. trust me clair you would be kicking yourself if you settled with the diploma…..my leg is dead from the self kicking i was doing before i started a215…..the year before i ‘settled’ with a UGdiploma after 4 years at edin uni………..now im back to say…..i will get my degree!!!! as annie says …rest a wee bit through summer…read n write for fun…and give thanks that the only deadline is the one waiting for us to start a363….xx
